Turning 40 feels like a big milestone. When I was in my teens, I thought 40 was so old. Now that I’m here, I’m not so sure. Yes, I gain weight faster than the latest trend on TikTok, there’s lower back pain, and I make noises every time I move. But it’s not all bad. I’ve learned so much over the years, though my memory isn’t the greatest, so I don’t remember everything. I just know that time has flown by quickly. Do I regret not doing enough? Sometimes, yes. But I have three wonderful cats and an indie game studio. It might not be that impressive compared to people who make millions and are half my age, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
Turning 40 also comes with a deeper appreciation for the little things. I’ve come to value quiet moments with my cats, the satisfaction of seeing a project through, and the joy of small achievements. I’ve learned to let go of what doesn’t matter and focus on what does. Every wrinkle and gray hair tells a story, and I’m proud of the journey I’ve been on.
